The Fayetteville Exhibition
The photos in this gallery are the culmination of an eight-week-long Photovoice project in Fayetteville, North Carolina in which community members shared parts of their lives to raise awareness, advocate, tell a story, or educate others through photography.
The project was a collaboration between the Health Advocacy Project of the North Carolina Justice Center and Action NC.
The primary goal of the project was to encourage community members to share their story on their own terms through their own frame of reference and lens. Through that storytelling process, community members realized the power and worth of their own stories and what they can do to influence change. Community members elected to explore themes of healthcare access, affordable medicine, food
access, domestic violence, and housing instability.
